The winning project of the 1st edition of the contest

The winner of the first edition of the contest is the Aliante project by Milanese designer Davide Anzalone.

The inspiration comes from aeronautics (Aliante is the Italian word for glider), and the shape of the shelves recalls airplane wings. The fins at the ends of the shelves also serve as bookends. The overall dimensions of the bookcase are quite large (2.2 m high and 2.7 m wide) despite its very light and thin structure. The idea is to create a piece of furniture with "low air resistance."

The bow

The second place winner of the 2013 Sailing & Yachting edition

Taking inspiration from the bow of the boat, the designer Lorenzo Taccagni has created an innovative seat that reinterprets the lines of the original element of the boat, bringing them to life in this elegant seat.
